Hola! I am Cindy

I’m on a mission to empower you to trust your body and take control of your reproductive health.

The writer, activist, speaker, scholar, and educator. La Faminista came from “living in multiple worlds”. Learning how to navigate growing up bilingual in Los Angeles, the daughter of Central American immigrants, standing for reproductive justice, feminism, activism and comprehensive reproductive health. I am a proud thirty-something Latina, born and raised in Los Angeles of parents from El Salvador and Guatemala. I live in Southern California with my husband and dog.

I’m a professional education interpreter and translator, whose love of wellness and my own reproductive health journey led me to start this work. Using my education and professional training background in healthcare interpreting, B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature, in progress M.A. in Latin American Studies and upcoming Fertility Awareness Educator training. I believe that we are not given all the information and options available to us to improve our reproductive wellness especially those of us navigating this world as people of color. Most women of color I have the opportunity of sharing space with has a story to tell about fertility, reproductive health, womb health, birth control, etc. The driving force for my work is to use it as a form of activism to provide you with the tools to advocate for your health.

Here you’ll find a holistic approach to birth control, menstrual cycles, life-changing information, hormone-friendly products for reproductive wellness that you can incorporate into your daily life.

A few of my favorite things to do when I am not working or researching is going on hikes with my family, going to the beach, listening and singing along to 90s music.

By joining my monthly newsletter, you’ll find a holistic approach to natural birth control, menstrual cycles, period talk, breaking taboos, evidence-based research, products that won’t mess with your hormones and much more!

I’m so glad you’re here!

Hasta la próxima,
